Role summary

Five9, a leader in cloud contact center software, seeks a Software Engineer II for its Global Voice Team. This role focuses on building high-performing, scalable, and resilient mission-critical services for Five9’s next-generation platform. The engineer will work within an Agile Scrum/DevOps environment, writing and testing code for cloud deployment. Key responsibilities include developing and enhancing the Media Server for real-time AI and LLM integrations. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience in C/C++ and real-time communications protocols, with strong troubleshooting skills and a sense of ownership.

Our Global Voice Team is looking for a committed, experienced Software Engineer II who is passionate about creating high-performing, scalable, and resilient mission-critical services that form the foundation of Five9’s next-generation contact center platform. You will have the opportunity to combine your existing expertise with new learnings, crafting bespoke solutions that serve our customers and partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in an Agile Scrum team that practices DevOps.
  • Write clean, well-documented code and corresponding tests.
  • Deliver your code as part of an overall solution running in the public cloud.
  • Develop and enhance our Media Server to support real-time integrations with Large Language Models (LLMs) and other AI services.
  • Required Skills:

  • 3+ years of professional experience in software development, including experience in C and/or C++.
  • Hands-on experience developing software for real-time communications signaling and media protocols (e.g., SIP, RTP).
  • Ability to methodically troubleshoot complex systems.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a strong sense of ownership.
