Data Analytics 3 — Aeronautical Product Data Analyst (Multi-Asset)

Role Summary

Lead the analysis and transformation of aeronautical source material into validated, traceable, product-ready data that supports Jeppesen/ForeFlight charting and digital aeronautical products across multiple asset types (e.g., Instrument Procedures, NavData, Airspace, Obstacles). This is a senior individual-contributor role with broad decision influence, quality ownership, and modernization impact. This is a remote role with in the US.

Key Responsibilities

Source analysis & change impact leadership

Lead analysis of complex/ambiguous aeronautical sources (authority publications, digital documents/maps/imagery) to determine change impact across Jeppesen datasets and downstream products.

Define the required data updates and ensure consistent application of capture rules/spec interpretations across assets and teams.

Own high-risk changes end-to-end through investigation, decision rationale, implementation guidance, and release readiness.

Production quality, governance, and risk management

Set and maintain domain QC/QA expectations (control points, peer review standards, exception handling) and ensure teams execute prescribed checks.

Serve as an escalation point for critical defects and release-blocking issues; drive containment, root-cause analysis, and prevention.

Establish and monitor quality signals (e.g., defect trends, rework drivers, late-cycle churn) and lead corrective action plans.

Clarifications & authoritative resolution

Partner with SMEs to craft and drive clarification queries to regulatory/aeronautical authorities, including problem statement, evidence package, and recommended resolution paths.

Build and maintain internal precedent/interpretation guidance to reduce recurring ambiguity and improve consistency.

Tooling, automation, and modernization enablement

Translate production pain points into engineering-ready requirements (validation rules, workflow improvements, data model gaps, observability needs).

Champion automation-assisted production: increase validation coverage, reduce manual QC load, and improve auditability/traceability.

Support adoption of evolving production software and processes; help shape how teams work as tools modernize.

Technical leadership

Mentor and upskill analysts

Drive cross-team alignment on standards, interpretation decisions, and “definition of done” for complex work.

Collaborate effectively with remote teams and global peers to deliver worldwide coverage.

Asset Coverage (assignment varies by business need)

Work may include one or more of:

Instrument Procedures / Approach Charting

NavData (Navaids / Waypoints / Routes)

Airspace

Obstacles

Required Qualifications

Significant experience (6+ years) in aeronautical data production/analysis supporting charting and/or digital aeronautical products (multi-asset breadth strongly preferred).

Demonstrated ability to lead complex change investigations from ambiguous sources through product-ready, traceable outcomes.

Strong command of effective dates / cycle-based delivery, versioning discipline, and change traceability (who/what/when/why).

Proven ability to distinguish and resolve: source ambiguity vs. data defect vs. internal spec/tooling gap, and to drive the right closure path.

Excellent written communication: can produce clear decision rationale, escalations, and requirements that both production and engineering can execute.

Comfortable working in a distributed/remote collaboration environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience defining or governing QC/QA frameworks (defect taxonomy, sampling strategy, rule coverage, audit readiness).

Experience partnering with software/data engineering on workflow automation, validation frameworks, and data pipeline improvements.

Strong data-tool fluency

Aviation domain familiarity (pilot/ops/nav systems exposure) and/or relevant degree/coursework.

What Success Looks Like

Reduced late-cycle churn and critical defect escapes through stronger standards, earlier detection, and clearer escalation paths.

Faster resolution of ambiguous sources via reusable precedents and high-quality clarification packages.

Increased automation leverage and validation coverage, improving consistency and throughput across assets.

Measurable uplift in team consistency through mentorship, calibration, and hardened “definition of done.”
