Role Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Retail Infrastructure Engineer to support and evolve a large-scale Store Platform environment. This role focuses on the management, automation, and stability of enterprise-level operating systems and retail peripherals. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between core infrastructure services and store-level hardware, ensuring seamless operations across a vast network of retail locations.

Minimum Requirements:

- Operating Systems:
Senior-level knowledge of Windows Embedded and enterprise-level OS management.
- Core Infrastructure:
Proficiency in Active Directory, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI/Certificates), and Network Protocols (DNS/DHCP).
- Automation & Scripting:
Strong expertise in PowerShell and experience with endpoint management tools like BigFix.
- Retail Hardware:
Hands-on experience with POS peripherals, including receipt printers, scanners, and cash drawers.
- Systems Management:
Experience in the management and automation of peripherals at an enterprise scale.

Preferred Requirements:

- Deployment & MDM:
Experience with Ansible (including Tower) and Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms like VMware Workspace One.
- Retail Software:
Familiarity with JPOS drivers and Commerce POS systems (e.g., JumpMind).
- Open Source Stack:
Knowledge of open-source tools such as BIND, ISC-DHCP, Postgres, and Java JDK.
- Hardware:
Specific experience with Zebra scanners.
- Tools:
Proficiency in ticketing and documentation platforms like Jira and Confluence.

Responsibilities:

- Project Leadership:
Participate in and lead multiple store infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
- Escalation Support:
Provide Level 2/3 troubleshooting for staging and post-implementation issues, including identifying and documenting defects.
- Automation & Improvement:
Interpret automation workflows (Ansible/Tower) to isolate issues and mitigate widespread problems through automated solutions.
- Development:
Work on enhancements and new features to improve services provided to internal customers.
- Knowledge Management:
Create technical documentation and knowledge base articles to empower Level 1/2 support teams as new pipelines are deployed.
- Collaboration:
Join daily standups and project meetings, and cross-train with team members to ensure technical redundancy.
- On-Call Support:
Provide after-hours support as part of an on-call rotation for Level 3 escalations (approximately 25% of the contract duration).
