Role summary

A 100% remote, contract Gaming Software Engineer role for a 12-month assignment. The focus is on new game development, rapid prototyping, and polishing casual and mobile games from concept to production-ready quality. Job Description:

Mobile Game Developer with past experience building successful mobile games. Game Developer will be focused on: New game development — Build new daily games from concept to playable prototype, following team design guidelines and technical standards. Rapid prototyping — Quickly iterate on social daily play game concepts to validate engagement hypotheses before FTE investment in integration. Game polish & production — Take validated prototypes through to production-ready quality, preparing them for entrypoint integration and launch. Social mechanics — Implement social features (challenges, leaderboards, sharing) that drive viral engagement and daily return behavior.

Client is seeking a \*\*Gaming Software Engineer\*\* for a temporary, project-based assignment. As a contingent worker, you will contribute to game development projects, collaborating with Meta’s full-time engineering team for validation and integration handoff. This is not a full-time employment opportunity; the position is temporary and governed by Meta’s contingent workforce policies.
Responsibilities:

  • Develop and prototype casual and mobile games using industry-standard frameworks.
  • Implement game design patterns including daily loops, progression systems, and social mechanics.
  • Work independently on game development tasks, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Collaborate with Meta’s full-time engineering team for validation, feedback, and integration.
  • Maintain high standards of code quality and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proven hands-on experience building games for casual and mobile platforms.
  • Proficiency with game development frameworks and rapid prototyping tools.
