Business & Data Analyst – Capital Management Technology
Role summary
This role is for a Business & Data Analyst focused on Capital Management Technology. The primary responsibilities include translating business rules into technical specifications, authoring user stories, developing data governance artifacts, and performing data analysis using SQL. The analyst will also be responsible for testing, data validation, and creating process documentation. A strong understanding of financial products and capital management principles is essential, along with hands-on experience in data integration and testing methodologies. The role requires translating business needs into actionable technical requirements and ensuring data quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate capital management business rules and data requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications, mappings, controls, and requirement traceability matrices.
- Author high-quality user stories and acceptance criteria using JIRA and Confluence.
- Develop and maintain data lineage, data catalogs, and control documentation to support governance, compliance, and audit readiness.
- Prepare and execute test cases and test plans; lead defect triage, QA, and data validation activities.
- Perform data discovery, profiling, and analysis on critical capital data sources to ensure completeness, accuracy, and quality.
- Work hands-on with data platforms, integration processes, and testing methodologies.
- Create clear data flows, process flows, and system documentation using Visio, Confluence, and related tools.
- Utilize SQL to analyze large datasets and demonstrate an understanding of big-data concepts.
- Maintain a solid understanding of financial products and their impact on capital management and regulatory reporting.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience translating business rules into technology requirements with strong traceability practices.
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL and data analysis across large datasets.
- 3+ years of experience in data integration, testing methodologies, and process documentation.
- Proficiency in creating data and process flows and maintaining governance and control artifacts.
- Solid understanding of financial products and capital management principles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience with credit or capital calculation engines.
- Familiarity with Axiom or similar capital reporting platforms.
- 3+ years of experience in capital management technology, treasury systems, or financial services environments.
