
Data Engineer
Role summary
Gallagher is seeking a Data Engineer to develop, maintain, and test data generation infrastructures and data pipeline architectures. The role involves assembling complex datasets, optimizing data delivery, and building infrastructure for ETL processes using SQL and big data technologies. The Data Engineer will work with stakeholders across various teams, ensure data security across AWS regions, and create data tools to support analytics and data science teams. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required, with preferred experience in Python, Azure Data Factory, Data Bricks, Spark, data transformation, cloud data, distributed data warehouses, and data lakes. This role emphasizes developing scalable data solutions and improving internal processes.

How You'll Make An Impact
Develops, maintains, and tests infrastructures for data generation Creates and maintains optimal data pipeline architecture and assembles data to meet business needs Assembles large, complex datasets that meet functional / nonfunctional business requirements Identifies, designs, and implements internal process improvements; automates manual processes , optimizing data delivery and redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability Builds infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and "big data" technologies Works with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data, and Design teams to assist with data related technical issues and support data infrastructure needs Keeps data separated and secure across national boundaries through multiples data centers and AWS regions Creates data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that that assist with building and optimizing products into innovative, industry leaders Oversees data generation infrastructure Builds analytics tools to provide actionable insights and assist data science and analytics team members with building bestinclass products Work with stakeholders to assist with data related tech issues and support data infrastructure needs CAREER: Applies advanced knowledge of sub-function typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Responsibilities may include:
- Managing products, systems and/or projects/processes, and working independently with limited supervision.
- Facing IT function related problems that are sometimes difficult and moderately complex.
- Coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level professionals.
About You
Required:
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience, or equivalent experience.
Preferred:
- SQL Python, Azure data factory, Data
- Bricks, Spark (experience would be a plus)
- Data transformation

- Distributed data warehouse knowledge

Compensation And Benefits
We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
