Role summary

Game One is seeking a Data Analyst to leverage data and analytics for growth by uncovering insights, building impactful reporting, and organizing data sets. The role involves creating Power BI dashboards for data-driven decision-making and self-service, handling ad-hoc requests, investigating data issues, and transforming large datasets using SQL. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in business intelligence/analytics, proficiency in SQL, Power BI, and Excel, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Game One is the premier provider of apparel, gear, and equipment unifying teams and fans in schools, clubs, and organizations.

JOB SUMMARY

The Data Analyst position will use data and analytics to drive value and growth for Game One by uncovering insights, building impactful reporting, and cleaning and organizing data sets.

JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Create effective dashboards using Power BI to drive data-driven decision making and allow cross functional partners to self-serve their data inquiries.
  • Deliver ad-hoc reporting requests.
  • Investigate data issues or inconsistencies and recommend solutions to remedy the situation.
  • Transform large data sets using efficient tools and tactics to ensure clean and consistent data, and to expose new attributes for reporting.
  • Modify existing and creating new queries using SQL.
  • Identify inefficiencies in reporting and processes and determine solutions to create more efficient practices.

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Strong analytical skillset with the ability to extract, collect, organize, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Analytical experience leveraging a large relational database, proficient in SQL.
  • Experienced and proficient with Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • A persistent sense of curiosity to identify trends, potential issues, inefficiencies, and to challenge the status quo.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as applied mathematics, economics, statistics, engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of business intelligence/analytics experience
