Role summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) seeks an eager analyst to join its Operational Excellence team. This role involves analyzing business and technical processes to develop and modify systems, defining requirements, and determining system specifications. The analyst will create reports, recommend process improvements, and collaborate with project management and end-users. The position requires a bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience, with typically three or more years as a business process analyst working with computerized management systems. Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential for this onsite, full-time role.

We have an exciting opportunity for an eager analyst to join our Operational Excellence team working in data management. Under general supervision with on-going review, this position is responsible for analyzing business and technical processes to formulate and develop new and modified business processing systems. Assists in defining requirements and business cases for technology developments. Determines system requirements, such as program functions, output requirements, input data acquisition, and system techniques and controls. Performs activities which involve the exercise of independent judgment and discretion about matters of significance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyzes, validates and develops business and technical process requirements. Develops systems requirements, techniques, and controls. Assists with implementation efforts and requirements.
  • Represents business unit with project management and end users, and may represent business unit with customers.
  • Develops and coordinates business and user requirement specifications. Ensures consistency, traceability, feasibility and completeness. Recommends process improvement.
  • Develops hard copy and electronic reports as required. Utilizes analysis models, prototypes and scenarios.
  • May participate in the development and implementation of requirement practices and processes. May participate in the development of engineering policies, procedures and tools.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and three or more years of experience as a business process analyst working with computerized management systems to include, but not limited to, product life cycle systems. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Must have general knowledge of business process/life cycle management principles, theories and concepts and a basic understanding of industry practices, techniques, and standards.
  • Must be customer focused and possess:
  • the ability to use independent judgment in developing solutions to a variety of non-routine problems
  • good verbal and written communications and presentations skills to accurately document and report findings to a variety of audiences
  • good interpersonal skills to influence and guide employees, managers, customers and other external parties
  • the ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
  • good computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
