
Senior Advanced Software Engineer
Role summary
General Dynamics Mission Systems is seeking a Senior Advanced Software Engineer to join their Satellite Ground Systems team in Scottsdale, AZ. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or a related field, with 8+ years of experience or a Master's degree with 6 years of experience. A Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance with Full Scope Polygraph and U.S. citizenship are mandatory. The engineer will be responsible for systems network engineering tasks, including installation and maintenance of OS patches, script development, network topology maintenance, security scan remediation, and documentation. Preferred skills include Agile experience and specific network hardware/software knowledge. The position is fully on-site.
Basic Qualifications :
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance with Full Scope Polygraph is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position:
ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:
As a Systems Network Engineer for Satellite Ground Systems, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team.

- Installation/maintenance of Windows and Linux patches and updates to include maintaining repositories
- Perl and PowerShell script development/maintenance/usage
- Maintenance of Network topology that utilize Windows Server DNS and Account Management, Cisco Firewalls and Switches, Synology NAS
- Experience with Government Nessus scans and able to resolve findings
- Written skills to include development and maintenance of documentation for network, system, operations, etc.
- Maintain/update local and shared Operating System (Windows and Linux) configurations including McAfee security services

Salary Note: This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary.
