Role summary

Seeking a seasoned Sr. Product Owner with hands-on experience in manufacturing or industrial environments for a 3-month contract with potential extension. This client-facing role is crucial for translating operational needs into actionable product strategies, defining product vision, prioritizing initiatives, and ensuring successful implementation of solutions that enhance manufacturing, customer service, and quality processes. The Product Owner will serve as the primary link between business users and cross-functional delivery teams, working onsite in New York City at least 3 days per week. Responsibilities include defining and maintaining the product vision, managing the product backlog and roadmap, and collaborating with distributed teams.

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Sr. Product Owner with hands-on experience in manufacturing or industrial environments. This role is pivotal in translating operational needs into actionable product strategies that drive efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. As the primary link between business users and cross-functional delivery teams, you will define the product vision, prioritize initiatives, and ensure successful implementation of solutions that enhance manufacturing, customer service, and quality processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior, client-facing Product Owner, building strong relationships with business stakeholders and operational teams.
  • Define and maintain the product vision, ensuring alignment with manufacturing, customer service, and quality process requirements.
  • Engage directly with on-site operational teams through workshops, interviews, and observation to capture workflows, constraints, and value drivers.
  • Translate business and operational needs into a structured product backlog, story maps, and a clear, actionable product roadmap.
  • Steer solution development in collaboration with UX, engineering, and delivery teams across multiple locations.
  • Ensure continuous alignment between client expectations and delivery execution, providing guidance on prioritization, trade-offs, and scope management.
  • Support implementation by offering product expertise, validating solutions, and making informed decisions throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner in manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Strong client-facing skills with experience engaging operational and executive stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience with MES and/or ERP systems within a manufacturing context.
  • Prior experience in luxury, high-end manufacturing, or similar industries is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with distributed, international delivery teams.
