About the Role

We are seeking a highly empathetic UI/UX Designer to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role is design-first, with a primary focus on crafting intuitive, accessible, and consumer-grade user experiences across our mobile applications.

You will serve as the lead architect for our software’s user experience, ensuring our applications are visually compelling, easy to use, and designed with accessibility at their core. You will collaborate closely with our Development Manager and the broader technical team to bring these experiences to life.

Key Responsibilities

• Interface Optimization & Design: Collaborate with the technical team to improve the User Interface (UI) of the OneTRS app and other platforms, ensuring it is intuitive for diverse user bases, including incarcerated individuals and their families.
• User Experience Flows: Map out user journeys and create wireframes/prototypes in Figma or Adobe XD to test new features (such as video calling functionalities) before development.
• Mobile App Design (Primary Focus): Design end-to-end mobile app experiences, translating complex workflows (captions, RTT, communication tools) into simple, user-friendly interfaces.
• Software Market Research: Analyze competitors’ applications and interfaces to keep our product experience two steps ahead of the competition.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in UI/UX design, with exposure to mobile application environments.
• Design Mastery: Expert proficiency in prototyping and design tools (Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD).Accessibility Knowledge: A solid understanding of WCAG standards (contrast ratios, font legibility, screen reader compatibility) is essential, as our core mission is accessibility.
• Portfolio: A strong portfolio is required, demonstrating high-fidelity mockups, wireframes, and case studies of complex UI problems. Bonus if portfolio includes live applications or shipped products.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience developing mobile applications using Flutter
• Proficiency in Dart
• Experience with API integration (RESTful services, backend connectivity)
• Exposure to the full app development lifecycle (design → build → iterate)
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, etc.)

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
