Role summary
The AES Group is seeking a Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and optimize cloud and hybrid infrastructure, with a focus on Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365. Key responsibilities include managing Azure IaaS/PaaS, Azure AD (Entra ID), Microsoft 365 services, building automation with PowerShell/ARM/Terraform, monitoring performance and costs, and integrating security tooling. The position requires 5+ years of cloud/systems engineering experience, strong expertise in Azure and M365, hybrid environment support, networking fundamentals, IAM, PowerShell scripting, and Intune. Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery is also necessary.

About the Role
We’re hiring a Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and optimize cloud and hybrid infrastructure with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365. This position blends hands-on engineering, architecture support, and operational ownership to improve scalability, reliability, security posture, and automation across a distributed environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable Microsoft Azure (IaaS & PaaS) infrastructure
- Administer and optimize Azure AD (Entra ID), including SSO, MFA, and Conditional Access
- Manage and enhance Microsoft 365 services: Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive
- Build and maintain automation using PowerShell, ARM templates, and/or Terraform
- Monitor performance, usage, and cloud spend; implement cost optimization practices
- Partner with network/infrastructure teams on VPNs, hybrid connectivity, and cloud networking
- Integrate and support security tooling (e.g., Zscaler, Proofpoint, endpoint protection)
- Ensure high availability, backup, and disaster recovery processes are implemented and maintained
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in cloud engineering and/or systems engineering
- Strong hands-on expertise in:
- Microsoft Azure (IaaS & PaaS)
- Azure AD / Entra ID
- Microsoft 365 administration
- Proven experience supporting hybrid environments (on-premises + cloud)
- Solid understanding of:
- Networking fundamentals (DNS, VPNs, firewalls)
- Identity and Access Management (IAM)
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation
- Experience with Intune and endpoint management solutions
- Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery strategies
Preferred Qualifications
- Azure certifications such as AZ-104 and/or AZ-305
- Experience in enterprise-scale or globally distributed IT environments
- Exposure to cloud security and compliance frameworks
