Role summary

Goldbelt Nighthawk is seeking an Information Security Analyst – Journeyman to support cybersecurity operations, compliance, and risk management. This role involves implementing security controls, monitoring system security posture, and assisting with RMF processes in coordination with ISSOs, ISSEs, and Cybersecurity Analysts. The analyst will identify vulnerabilities, analyze security alerts, and support the development of RMF documentation like SSPs and POA&Ms, adhering to NIST 800-53 and DoD requirements. A solid foundation in cybersecurity principles and 2-5 years of experience are required, along with a Tier III Level Clearance.

Summary:

The Information Security Analyst – Journeyman supports cybersecurity operations, compliance, and risk management activities across assigned systems and enclaves. Working in coordination with ISSOs, ISSEs, and Cybersecurity Analysts, this role focuses on implementing security controls, monitoring system security posture, and supporting RMF processes.

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Monitor system security posture and assist in identifying vulnerabilities, risks, and compliance gaps
  • Analyze security alerts, incident reports, and vulnerability scan results to support remediation efforts
  • Assist in implementing and validating security controls in accordance with NIST 800-53 and DoD requirements
  • Support development and maintenance of RMF documentation, including SSPs, POA&Ms, and SAR inputs
  • Support ISSOs and ISSEs in executing cybersecurity and RMF activities for assigned systems

Qualifications:

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Solid foundation in cybersecurity principles

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2–5 years of experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, or related field
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning tools and security monitoring solutions preferred
  • Must have a Tier III Level Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field
