Probate Paralegal or Legal Assistant

Location: New York / New Jersey

Goldburd McCone LLP is seeking a
Probate Paralegal or Legal Assistant
to support our expanding trusts and estates practice. The position involves working closely with attorneys on both uncontested and contested probate matters and assisting with filings in Surrogate’s Courts.

This role is ideal for someone who is organized, self starter, detail oriented, and comfortable managing multiple files in a fast-paced legal environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with probate and estate administration matters
• Prepare and review probate petitions, affidavits, waivers, and related court filings
• Coordinate Surrogate’s Court filings and track deadlines
• Communicate with clients regarding required documents and case status
• Organize case files, supporting documents, and asset information
• Assist with estate accounting and supporting documentation
• Coordinate with courts, process servers, and third parties as needed

Qualifications

• Experience working in probate, estate administration, or Surrogate’s Court matters preferred
• Strong organizational and document management skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with New York Surrogate’s Court procedures preferred
• Experience with New Jersey probate matters is a plus

Compensation

• $65,000 – $95,000 depending on experience
• Flexible work arrangements depending on background and experience
