Role summary

Google Play is seeking a UX Program Manager to join its multi-disciplinary UX team. This role focuses on improving product design through expert project management and a passion for user experience, impacting billions of users. Responsibilities include planning projects, defining milestones, assessing risks, analyzing data for insights, and ensuring deadlines are met. The UX Program Manager will harmonize the work of various UX disciplines and cross-functional partners to drive team objectives and create innovative experiences. This position emphasizes empowering teams, leading user needs, and driving strategic clarity, operational efficiency, and cross-functional alignment within the Google Play ecosystem.

### Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of program management experience within design or UX organizations.
  • Experience with User Research, or Research focused tools and user centered methodologies.

### Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with the product development lifecycle.
  • Experience analyzing data and delivering recommendations for improvement.
  • Experience managing risks (e.g. operational, product, team health).

As a UX Program Manager in Google Play, you will empower teams, lead user needs, and drive strategic clarity, operational efficiency, and cross-functional alignment to deliver impactful and cohesive product and organizational experiences.

Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$189,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. ## Responsibilities

  • Provide operational knowledge across UX teams, while building collaborative relationships with stakeholders across program work.
  • Develop a plan to assess continuous improvement opportunities for UX programs and processes, decide on the method to collect data, analyze the data for insights, propose improvements, and test them with stakeholders.
  • Provide input to defining metrics that drive a culture of user-centered development, demonstrate UX impact based on program needs, and facilitate alignment within UX.
  • Prioritize and execute project plans thinking about how to optimize resourcing, time, and funding investment.
