
Technical Program Manager, NPI, AI/ML
Role summary
As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will leverage your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion. You will collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, identify risks, manage project timelines, and ensure clear communication with cross-functional partners. Your role involves explaining team analyses and recommendations to executives and discussing technical tradeoffs with engineers. The AI and Infrastructure team is focused on delivering AI and Infrastructure at scale, efficiency, reliability, and velocity, empowering Google customers with breakthrough capabilities. This team is instrumental in driving Google's innovations in AI models, computing power, and platforms for developers, including TPUs, Vertex AI, Google Global Networking, and Data Center operations.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in program management.
Preferred qualifications:
- 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
- Ability to align, prioritize, resource, and scale programs according to strategic objectives, and to result in maximized organizational benefits and improved business outcomes.
- Ability to assess engineering problems, understand the interplay between program and technical issues, and contribute to shaping technical directions.
- Ability to drive complex program level or organizational changes.
- Advanced program management skills, with the demonstrated ability to successfully drive and land large and complex programs.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $192000 - $279000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + bonus + equity + benefits

- Partner with key engineering leads/stakeholders, contribute to ML system roadmap by program managing complex projects, organizing cross-project work within the program, and defining program controls, governance, or standards.
- Lead end-to-end development and landing of next-gen ML systems through NPI Product Life Cycle (PLC) process from concept to production and sustaining.
- Drive a portfolio of tracks to make direct and measurable impact on customer adoption.
- Partner with engineering leads and cross-functional teams to ensure that organization-wide Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) are set and reflect strategy as well as ensure projects are effectively prioritized, resourced, and managed.
- Engage with executives and cross-functional leaders to strategize and drive ML hardware/system roadmap.
