Role summary
Google is seeking a UX Researcher specializing in XR (Extended Reality) to join their multi-disciplinary UX team. The role involves collaborating with Engineering and Product Management to gather user insights and create industry-leading products. The researcher will play a critical role in understanding user needs and driving impact throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring products are useful, usable, and helpful. The team is at the forefront of the convergence of AI and XR, reimagining human interaction with the world through lightweight XR devices and AI augmentation. The position is full-time with a competitive salary range, bonus, equity, and benefits.

### Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with research methods (e.g., usability, studies, contextual inquires, 1:1 interviews, unmoderated research studies).
- 6 years of experience in an applied research setting (e.g., product or academic), or similar.
### Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, or related field.
- 3 years of experience working with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above).
- 2 years of experience conducting UX research on products, managing projects, and working in a changing organization.
- Experience conducting research with emerging technologies and devices (e.g., VR headsets, smartphones, wearables, etc.).
- Experience conducting research in AR/VR product environments, Android systems, system UI, or app scaling.
- Knowledge of human physiology, human performance, visual processing, intentional demands, or ergonomics.

You will also grow within a supportive UXR community offering mentorship, regular meetups, and exclusive internal tools.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000-$231,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. ## Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a prioritized research roadmap aligned with product strategy and business goals.
- Scope and lead research initiatives to understand use cases and journeys across multiple AR/VR products.
- Plan and execute various research methodologies, including usability testing, user interviews, surveys, field studies, and quantitative analysis.
- Partner with designers, product managers, and engineers across Google and external organizations to support consumer launches.
- Provide user-centered insights to inform product strategy and roadmap development.
