
Staff Software Engineer, Magic Eye, GenUX
Role summary
Google is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for its GenUX team to design and develop next-generation technologies that impact billions of users. This role involves full-stack development, focusing on translating data concepts into intuitive experiences for internal tools. You will collaborate with Product Managers and UX Designers, leverage AI expertise to build scalable intelligent features, and maintain critical internal platforms like MagicEye. The position requires a strong background in software development, testing, launch, and architecture, with an emphasis on creating user-friendly, data-driven solutions for large-scale internal products. This is a hybrid role based in Mountain View or San Francisco, CA.

### Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
- 5 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
### Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in a matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $207,000-$300,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. ## Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of functional prototypes to iterate on product concepts, translating data into intuitive experiences for a broad internal audience.
- Partner with Product Managers, User Experience Designers, and Engineers in design jams to brainstorm and architect solutions for high-impact, cross-departmental products.
- Leverage solid artificial intelligence (AI) development expertise to build and scale intelligent features for internal tools used by tens of thousands of Googlers.
- Maintain and evolve critical internal platforms such as MagicEye, Roadmap, and the Objectives and Key Results Dashboard ensure they remain, data-driven, and user-friendly.
