
Software Engineer III, Mobile, Android, Messaging
Role summary
Google is seeking a Software Engineer III specializing in Android mobile development for its RCS Messaging platform. This role involves developing next-generation technologies for billions of users, focusing on the future of modern messaging across the Android ecosystem. Responsibilities include writing product/system code, leading design reviews, contributing to documentation, collaborating on on-device ML models, and supporting spam protection infrastructure. The position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 2 years in Android development and Kotlin. Preferred qualifications include experience with data structures, algorithms, and anti-spam domains.

### Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with Android application development.
- 2 years of experience with software development in Kotlin languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
### Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Experience working in anti-spam, trust and safety, or related product integrity domains.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. ## Responsibilities
- Write product or system development code.
- Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
- Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
- Collaborate on the end-to-end lifecycle of on-device ML models, from initial implementation to final launch on Google Messages and RCS network.
- Support the ongoing health and maintenance of our spam protection infrastructure by monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues across both backend services and/or on-device components.
