Role summary

GovCIO is seeking a remote Software Quality Assurance Engineer with at least 8 years of experience, including 4 years of hands-on experience, to join a fast-paced team. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in information technology or equivalent experience, and proficiency in manual testing within a federal government client environment. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing test plans, performing various types of testing (functional, regression, load, system, security), and working with developers to resolve defects. Familiarity with Jira, X-Ray, and AWS is required, along with knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies, specifically Kanban. A DHS Public Trust clearance and US Citizenship are mandatory.

GovCIO is seeking a QA Engineer. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced team. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with manual testing in a federal government client environment. This customer-facing role will be instrumental in ensuring customer satisfaction. This position will be fully remote in the United States.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer with government contracting experience. The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of hands-on experience, a strong understanding of Amazon Webservices (AWS), Jira, and X-Ray is a plus.

  • Develop, publish, and implement test plans for complex, multi-tier, distributed, applications throughout the full lifecycle.
  • Develop manual or automated testing systems using commercial tools, scripts and data set.
  • Participates in all aspects of testing, including functional, regression, load and system testing.
  • Assures the appropriate level of quality by the resolution of important defects by working with developers and/or engineers to ensure the software or hardware development process has an appropriate level of testing.
  • Develops response strategies and processes for high-criticality and security vulnerability related bug notifications.
  • Pro-actively investigates and finds potential security holes and attack vectors within both the existing and newly developed code base.
  • Agile/Scrum Methodologies: Working in iterative development cycles with cross-functional teams.
  • Communicate effectively with federal clients, developers, and program managers

Qualifications:

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, or related field or commensurate experience.
  • 8+ years of experience
  • 4 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
  • Experience with Jira, X-ray, AWS
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, specifically Kanban.

Clearance Required:

  • Must be able to obtain a DHS Public Trust
  • - US Citizenship is required

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • experience in AWS
