Position Summary:
The Director of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the revenue cycle, including billing, coding, collections, and payer relations. This role ensures efficient operations, maximizes reimbursement, and maintains compliance with healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee end to end revenue cycle operations (intake, coding, billing, collections)
- Optimize reimbursement and reduce claim denials
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics
- Ensure accurate coding and compliance with payer and regulatory requirements
- Manage relationships with insurance payers and resolve escalated issues
- Lead and support billing/RCM staff or vendors
- Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and cash flow
- Collaborate with leadership on financial strategy and growth initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in revenue cycle management, preferably in behavioral health or outpatient settings
- Strong knowledge of medical billing, coding, and insurance processes
- Experience with EHR/EMR and billing systems
- Strong analytical and leadership skills
- Strong Excel skills required; this role works closely with the CFO and CEO on financial reporting, forecasting, and performance analysis
Preferred Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in revenue cycle management, preferably in behavioral health or outpatient settings
- Experience with psychiatry, infusion services, or specialty clinics
- Familiarity with both insurance and cash pay models
Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
