Estate Planning Attorney
Trust & Estate Attorney – Build a meaningful practice with real support
Gravis Law is seeking an experienced
Trust & Estate Attorney
to join our growing team. You’ll work with clients on estate planning, trust administration, and probate matters while benefiting from a collaborative environment, strong support, and a steady flow of quality work.
This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys both counseling and implementation—guiding clients through planning and then helping families navigate the administration and probate process when it matters most. You’ll have the autonomy to run your practice, with systems, marketing, and staff behind you so you can focus on high‑value legal work.
What You’ll Do
- Advise individuals and families on estate planning, trust administration, and probate strategies.
- Draft and review wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives, and related estate planning documents.
- Handle probate matters from opening the estate through final distribution, including pleadings, notices, inventories, accountings, and closing documents.
- Assist personal representatives, trustees, and beneficiaries with administration, asset marshaling, and distributions.
- Conduct legal research on estate, probate, and fiduciary issues, and develop clear, practical recommendations.
- Communicate regularly with clients, fiduciaries, and beneficiaries, setting expectations and providing status updates with empathy and professionalism.
- Coordinate with courts, financial institutions, and other third parties to move matters forward efficiently.
- Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to ensure organized files, timely filings, and a strong client experience.
- Participate in targeted business development and networking activities, with firm support, to grow your practice over time.
What We’re Looking For
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active bar license in the state where you will practice.
- 3+ years of trust and estate experience with substantial probate practice (required).
- Strong drafting skills for estate planning and probate documents.
- Excellent communication and client counseling skills, especially with clients facing sensitive family and financial issues.
- Ability to manage multiple matters, deadlines, and priorities with strong attention to detail.
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to leverage firm systems, marketing, and staff to build and sustain your practice.
