Role summary

The Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Engagement Operations Team Product Owner (PO) will be responsible for prioritizing and validating software development for the Engagement Operations team within the Army Program Acquisition Executive Fires (PEO Fires) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office. This role requires a deep understanding of Engagement Operations concepts, Systems Engineering, and Agile methodologies. The PO will provide technical guidance, oversight to the development team, and present technical briefings to leadership, ensuring alignment with IFMC mission objectives. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 7 years of combined Government/DoD experience are mandatory, along with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

The Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Engagement Operations Team Product Owner (PO) will work as a member of the Army Program Acquisition Executive Fires (PEO Fires) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office. The PO will be responsible for the Prioritization and validation of the development software for the Engagement Operations team. The position will include reviewing and understanding Systems Engineering concepts, designs, and algorithms and providing guidance to the development team. The product owner will work with Program management in setting priorities for the capabilities and defects of the team for each product increment and sprint. The position will include technical briefings and advisement to leadership on the status and recommended courses of action, competing capabilities, performance, risks, and impacts on the IFMC mission.

  • Have a bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering, the sciences, or mathematics.
  • Have a minimum of 7 years combined Government/DoD experience in performing the essential duties listed above.
  • Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain a Secret security clearance or higher.
  • Must have a basic understanding of Engagement Operations (EO) concepts including engagement planning/scheduling, threat evaluation, target selection, battlespace prediction, and sensor resource management.
  • Must have the ability to provide oversight to an EO SW development team and verify the team's work based on agreed-upon acceptance criteria, including attending code reviews.
  • Must be able to work directly with the Agile software developers.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge in IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS.
  • Familiarity with current EO implementations in one or more of the DoD services.
  • Prior Product Owner experience on a SCRUM team.
