Position Summary
The Director of Design & Development is a strategic, client-focused leader responsible for driving the performance, vision, and alignment of GreatHouse’s Sales, Marketing, and Design teams. This role ensures a seamless and elevated client journey—from initial outreach through completed design—while strengthening brand presence, increasing sales performance, and fostering a high-performing, collaborative team environment.
You serve as both a thought leader and an active contributor, participating directly in sales efforts alongside the Owner and General Manager. You oversee internal design operations and external marketing partnerships, ensuring all functions are aligned with company goals, brand standards, and growth objectives.
Strategic Leadership & Department Development
- Lead and develop the Sales, Marketing, and Design teams in alignment with GreatHouse’s core values.
- Serve as a thought leader for the organization, driving alignment across departments.
- Build scalable systems and processes that support growth.
- Participate in Leadership Team rhythms including weekly L10s and quarterly planning.
- Ensure a premium, consistent client experience aligned with the GreatHouse brand.
Sales Leadership & Business Development
- Actively participate in the sales process alongside leadership.
- Coach the Sales team to improve close rates and client experience.
- Refine and optimize the sales process.
- Identify opportunities for new business development.
Marketing Leadership & Brand Growth
- Oversee external marketing and SEO partners.
- Manage relationships with marketing vendors.
- Guide marketing strategy and brand positioning.
- Ensure consistent brand voice and messaging.
- Track and evaluate marketing performance.
Design Team Leadership & Project Development
- Oversee the full Design team (Interior Designer, Drafter, Estimator, Procurement Manager).
- Ensure efficient, client-focused design processes.
- Support collaboration between Design, Sales, and Production.
- Maintain high standards for design quality and communication.
- Foster innovation within the design function.
Cross-Department Collaboration & Client Experience
- Ensure alignment between Sales, Design, and Production.
- Identify and resolve gaps in the client experience.
- Participate in key client touchpoints.
- Promote clear communication across departments.
People Leadership
- Recruit, onboard, and develop team members.
- Conduct regular 1:1s and performance conversations.
- Foster a collaborative and positive culture.
- Encourage professional development.
Additional Requirements
- Full-time availability (40–45 hours per week).
- Must be available during business hours and as needed.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Occasional evening or weekend availability.

- Base salary plus quarterly profit sharing ($100,000 – $130,000 total compensation depending on experience)
