Job Overview
About Green Thumb Local Green Thumb Local is a U.S.-based SEO and marketing agency that helps local home service businesses thrive online. Our clients include electricians, plumbers, roofers, painters, landscapers, and other skilled trades. We build and manage high-performing Squarespace websites and digital brands that generate real leads and measurable growth.

About the Role We’re looking for a Client Brand Developer who can own the full website experience for clients—from onboarding and design through launch and post-launch updates.

This role combines web design, client communication, and light technical troubleshooting. You’ll be responsible for creating new websites, managing updates, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure each client’s brand is represented accurately and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Build, design, and develop new Squarespace websites for small business clients using approved templates and existing design sections within our enterprise account
  • Focus heavily on homepage design and user experience, ensuring cohesion across all pages
  • Customize icons, headers, and visuals using Canva or Design Pickle, providing clear direction for each request
  • Set up domains, connect URLs, configure forwarding, and complete listing optimizations for each new site launch
  • Manage client communications throughout setup, review, and edit phases (progress emails, site review calls, and approvals)
  • Install and configure website technical components, including Google Tag Manager and Domain configurations
  • Conduct image and content updates, ensuring SEO consistency and proper structure
  • Coordinate landing pages and ad partnership projects, managing access permissions, content, and page setup based on vendor requirements
  • Use sound judgment regarding platform permissions, access, and edits when coordinating with advertising vendors
  • Review completed work with clients (accuracy of content, typos, correct city/state, and metadata)
  • Move pages to the correct navigation areas and keep folders organized (main services, location-specific, or unlinked sections)
  • Add internal links, check metadata, and ensure all location and service pages are properly optimized
  • Use internal spreadsheets to track URLs and send completion emails to clients, copying the SEO lead when necessary
  • Maintain SOP consistency and documentation for Elfsight form connections, Chatbase chatbots, and similar integrations
  • Send and track client chatbot questionnaires, configure Chatbase bots, and add final bots to websites
  • Handle client-facing technical troubleshooting such as Sherweb, domain issues, Bing or Facebook access, Yelp listing updates, CallRail integrations, and automation setups
  • Support CRM scheduler configuration, testing, and automation workflows as needed (no coding required)
  • Maintain organized documentation of all client interactions and deliverables in Pipedrive CRM

Requirements

  • Ability to provide a portfolio of websites that you have been the primary creative power behind
  • Fluent English (written and spoken) with professional communication skills for client calls
  • 3+ years of experience designing and building Squarespace websites
  • Strong visual design sense and understanding of conversion-focused website layouts
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS for layout adjustments or custom styling
  • Familiarity with SEO principles, including metadata, content structure, keyword placement, and internal linking
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Comfortable communicating directly with small business owners
  • Proficiency with tools such as Google Workspace, Canva, Design Pickle, Pipedrive, CallRail, Chatbase, and Elfsight (preferred)
  • Basic technical troubleshooting for domains, integrations, and marketing platforms
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight turnaround times

Performance Expectations

  • Consistent, high-quality website builds and updates delivered on schedule
  • Strong client communication and overall client satisfaction
  • Organized documentation and smooth handoffs between teams
  • Accurate metadata, internal linking, and SEO compliance across all websites
  • Proactive identification and resolution of design or technical issues
