Role summary

Green Worldwide Shipping is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to protect its information systems, networks, and data. This role involves monitoring security events using SIEM and other tools, investigating threats, and responding to incidents. The analyst will identify and remediate vulnerabilities, conduct scans and assessments, and contribute to security architecture improvements. Responsibilities include participating in incident response, supporting compliance initiatives, and maintaining documentation. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, strong knowledge of networking, security tools (SIEM, endpoint protection), KQL, Zero Trust principles, and Active Directory. Experience with vulnerability management and incident response is crucial. The role requires strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work independently. This is a full-time, remote position within the logistics industry, focusing on cybersecurity.

The Cybersecurity Analyst is responsible for protecting the organization’s information systems, networks, and data from cybersecurity threats. This role focuses on identifying vulnerabilities, monitoring security events, responding to incidents, and continuously improving the organization’s security posture through proactive analysis, tooling, and best practices. The Cybersecurity Analyst works closely with the IT Team, leadership, and external partners to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and data.

What you will be doing

Security Operations & Monitoring

  • Monitor, analyze, and respond to security events using SIEM and other security tools.
  • Investigate alerts, suspicious activity, and potential threats across endpoints, networks, and cloud platforms.
  • Document security incidents, conduct root-cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions.

Threat & Vulnerability Management

  • Identify, assess, and remediate vulnerabilities in systems, networks, and applications.
  • Perform regular vulnerability scans and coordinate remediation efforts with IT teams.
  • Conduct penetration testing and security assessments as required.

Security Architecture & Improvement

  • Research, evaluate, and deploy new security technologies and configurations to enhance protection.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and operation of enterprise security services in a complex IT environment.
  • Develop and maintain security standards, baselines, and best practices.
  • Oversee annual cybersecurity self-assessments and develop/manage necessary remediation plans.
  • Working with relevant teams to help define, test, and execute BCP/DR plans.

Incident Response & Compliance

  • Participate in incident response activities, including containment, eradication, and recovery.
  • Support compliance initiatives related to cybersecurity frameworks, audits, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate security documentation, including incident reports and security procedures.

Collaboration & Support

  • Serve as an escalation point for security-related issues from the IT help desk.
  • Assist the team with desktop support tickets as needed.
  • Work with internal teams to promote security awareness and best practices.
  • Communicate technical security concepts in clear, business-friendly language to non-technical stakeholders.

Howyou will stand out

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in cybersecurity, information security, or a related IT role.
  • Strong understanding of:

o Core networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and routing protocols.

  • - Firewalls, proxies, SIEM (Microsoft's Sentinel, Splunk), IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection (Sentinel One, CrowdStrike, or equivalent).
  • KQL or equivalent query language.
  • Working knowledge of Zero Trust principles
  • Proficiency in managing Active Directory & Group Policy Objects to enforce security policies.
  • Experience with vulnerability management and incident response.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in enterprise or multi-site environments.
  • Experience with managing and configuring Cisco based networks.
  • Security certifications such as Security+, Network+, CySA, Cisco CCNA, or similar.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments, with experience in CLI & shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with virtualization environments such as VMWare, Hyper-V, or Proxmox.
