GreenSpark Talent is partnering with a
venture-backed startup building an AI-native financial operating system for healthcare providers
.
About the Company
Our client is building an AI-native financial operating system for health systems. Founded by experienced entrepreneurs and backed by top-tier investors, the company helps finance, supply chain, and managed care teams gain real-time visibility into where margin is at risk—along with clear, actionable steps to capture it before it’s lost.
Purpose-built for healthcare’s complexity, the platform leverages modern ML and LLMs to transform complex healthcare operational data—structured, unstructured, and external—into contract-aware insights while continuously learning and adapting to deliver always-on intelligence. By compressing months of analysis into minutes, the platform shifts healthcare organizations from reactive hindsight to proactive, real-time decision-making.
The Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to join a
well-funded, early-stage company at a formative moment
and help shape the technical foundation of a next-generation platform.
You’ll operate at the intersection of
product, distributed systems, cloud, and emerging AI infrastructure.
You’ll partner closely with engineering and leadership to identify where infrastructure creates friction today—and where it may become a bottleneck tomorrow.
The team is currently ~4–5 engineers, offering
high ownership
and
direct impact
on core architecture decisions.
You’ll design and build distributed systems that enable a small, high-performing team to move quickly and reliably as the company scales. From multi-tenant architecture and security boundaries to developer workflows and observability, you’ll turn ambiguity into scalable, durable systems that accelerate engineering velocity.
This role is ideal for a systems-minded backend engineer who values long-term maintainability and developer experience, while still enjoying shipping real product features. You’ll make pragmatic tradeoffs, design for scale, and build infrastructure that enables the broader team to focus on delivering meaningful product value.
What You’ll Do
- Build shared platform patterns and tooling that enable engineers to ship backend services and workflows quickly, safely, and consistently
- Improve reliability of production systems through observability, debugging, and resilience practices
- Design infrastructure that is clean, repeatable, and scalable—minimizing one-off configurations
- Establish clear multi-tenant boundaries across data, compute, and identity
- Reduce operational overhead as usage and data scale
- Contribute to agentic orchestration layers powering natural language analytics and insight discovery
- Support and scale systems that enable AI-powered features, including data pipelines, model integrations, and agent-driven workflows
Who You Are
- Strong experience designing distributed systems and scalable SaaS platforms, with a focus on reliability, isolation, and clear ownership
- Deep understanding of core platform concepts such as API design, CI/CD, multi-tenancy, and role-based access control
- Hands-on experience with modern cloud environments (AWS or GCP) and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and Kubernetes
- Experience with AI/ML systems (e.g., LLMs, RAG pipelines, or data platforms supporting machine learning workloads) is a plus
- Comfortable leveraging cloud-native services for compute, storage, and ML workloads
- Treat infrastructure as software and prioritize developer experience through reusable patterns, automation, and tooling
- Strong backend engineering skills, with experience building APIs, asynchronous workflows, background jobs, and integrations
- Able to balance platform thinking with shipping real product functionality
Why This Role
- High impact:
Shape the technical and product foundation from an early stage
- Ownership:
Drive work from concept through production with autonomy
- Customer proximity:
Build alongside real users and directly influence outcomes
- Strong team:
Collaborate with experienced founders and operators in healthcare and AI
- Meaningful problem space:
Help modernize how healthcare systems operate and make decisions
