Role summary

This early-stage, well-funded cybersecurity startup is seeking a Founding Research ML Engineer to architect core ML pipelines and codebase for an industry-first security solution. The role involves taking research-grade ML experiments and making them production-ready for enterprise use. Key responsibilities include designing data telemetry systems, developing novel threat detection methods, and collaborating with infrastructure teams to ensure secure and performant pipelines. The ideal candidate has an advanced degree in CS, 4+ years of industry experience, and 1+ years working with LLMs in production.

Early-stage, cybersecurity investment (valued over $100M at Seed), founded by a successful serial entrepreneur, is looking to hire a Founding Research with a strong background in Machine Learning (LLM), cybersecurity (ideally, exposure to endpoint solutions), and data telemetry

Summary:

Help architect the core ML pipelines and codebase for an industry-first solution in security. Our ideal candidate will be able to take research-grade ML experiments and ensure they can be run in a stable and repeatable manner in the enterprise.

Key Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in CS (or a related field) with 4+ years industry experience and 1+ years working with LLM's in a large-scale production environment
  • Prior experience with a zero-to-one
  • Proven ability to collaborate across different teams and adapt to new fields
  • Previous publication history related to this domain would be ideal

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement data collection and telemetry systems that capture, process, and analyze large-scale security or operational data streams in real time
  • Research and develop novel methods for threat detection, anomaly analysis, and behavioral modeling using statistical, ML, or signal-processing techniques
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and data teams to ensure telemetry pipelines are secure, performant, and privacy-preserving across distributed environments
  • Translate research insights into production-ready systems, validating results through experimentation, benchmarking, and continuous monitoring
