Role Description:

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer with a strong frontend focus to help build the core software systems that power Gridware’s platform. You’ll lead development of the user-facing tools that visualize grid health, fleet diagnostics, and real-time events from the field, while staying closely connected to the backend systems that support them.

You’ll work across the stack to design and scale intuitive, reliable interfaces that sit on top of complex backend services connecting hardware, firmware, and cloud infrastructure. This is a high-ownership, high-impact role that blends frontend craftsmanship with full-stack problem solving, giving you the opportunity to shape how operators interact with and protect critical infrastructure at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build frontend-heavy, full-stack systems that visualize real-time grid events, fleet health, and operational insights.
  • Develop data-rich user interfaces in close collaboration with data science and operations teams to support fast, informed decision-making.
  • Partner with backend and firmware engineers to integrate device control, telemetry, and fleet management into user-facing tools.
  • Build and maintain integrations and workflows that connect Gridware’s platform with utility customer systems.
  • Champion frontend and full-stack best practices around testing, performance, observability, and continuous deployment.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience building production software across frontend and backend, with a strong frontend emphasis.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and React, with working experience in Python and PostgreSQL (or equivalent backend technologies).
  • Experience building data-intensive or real-time user interfaces on top of complex systems.
  • Comfortable taking broad ownership in a fast-paced, high-autonomy environment.
  • Passion for building products that connect software, sensors, and the physical world.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with real-time or event-driven interfaces (WebSockets, streaming APIs, live dashboards).
  • Familiarity with observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Grafana, or Mimir.
  • Background working in hardware-software or IoT ecosystems.
  • Strong product sense and ability to translate complex technical systems into clear, usable experiences.
