Role summary

Grow Therapy is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their engineering team. This hybrid role involves designing, implementing, and shipping features across the full stack (backend APIs with Python and frontend interfaces with React/TypeScript) to enhance client and provider experiences. The engineer will own the full lifecycle of their work, contribute to core platform systems, and resolve production issues. The role emphasizes data quality, correctness, and performance, requiring strong execution skills and a product-minded approach. Experience with AI-assisted development tools is preferred. This position is based in NYC, San Francisco, or Seattle, with an expectation of three days per week in the office.

### Who you are
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Experience building and maintaining production systems at scale
- Comfortable working across backend APIs and frontend interfaces, with hands-on experience in Python and modern React/TypeScript
- Experience working on systems where data quality, correctness, and performance matter
- Strong execution skills and the ability to deliver scoped work independently
- Curiosity and a willingness to learn complex systems and new problem domains
- A product-minded approach - you understand how technical decisions impact user experience and business outcomes
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a track record of working closely with cross-functional partners including Product, Design, and Data Science
- Experience using AI-assisted dev tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor)
- A bias toward ownership, speed, learning, and continuous improvement
- Research shows that some groups hesitate to apply unless they meet every qualification. If you’re excited about this role but don’t check every box, we encourage you to apply. At Grow, we value diverse experiences, transferable skills, and the unique strengths each person brings

- Contribute to and improve core platform systems, including those related to discovery, scheduling, transactions, and user experience
- Implement and support A/B tests and experiments, from hypothesis through measurement and rollout
- Investigate, triage, and resolve production incidents and complex cross-system bugs
- Write clean, well-tested, maintainable production code and take an active role in code reviews

- As a Software Engineer on this team, you’ll develop systems that capture measures, structure documentation, and surface insights so we can demonstrate outcomes and power value-based partnerships
- Client Activation – The Client Activation team owns the fragile moments between booking and a client’s first few sessions, making starting care feel clear, reliable, and supportive
- As a Software Engineer on this team, you’ll build and harden systems for scheduling, authentication, notifications, and early-journey flows that directly determine whether clients show up, come back for visit two, and build lasting relationships with their providers
- Client Engagement - The Client Engagement team owns the experiences that keep clients connected between and across sessions—web and app surfaces, notifications, and core journeys
- As a Software Engineer on this team, you’ll ship features that help clients stay on track with care plans, manage appointments, and stay engaged long after their first visit
- Coverage & Payments Experience - The Payments Experience team owns the client-facing financial journey, from eligibility checks and cost estimates to charging cards and handling balances
- As a Software Engineer on this team, you’ll build systems that make insurance coverage understandable, reduce billing surprises, and keep the money flow trustworthy for both clients and providers
- This is a hybrid role with the expectation to work onsite from our NYC, San Francisco, or Seattle hub location three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) and travel 2–3 times per year (e.g., company and department offsites)
