GrowCap | Hybrid | Competitive Salary
What We Do
GrowCap provides user acquisition funding to games and apps to help bring them to a wider audience. We help game studios optimize their advertising spend, scale their user base, and reach and retain millions of players every day all across the world.
We rethink traditional venture and debt financing by providing fit-for-purpose capital that helps studios grow without giving up equity, providing an easy and low-cost solution for the $170B global mobile games market.
We’re seeking an experienced data engineer who can own critical projects, drive results, and directly impact the business performance. You will work directly with the CEO, COO, Head of Origination and Credit teams to translate business requirements and data opportunities into tangible features in the platform. You will work with data across advertising, gaming, sales and social media platforms to identify opportunities and define the long-term roadmap of our infrastructure.
What You'll Do
The data of mobile gaming is fragmented across MMPs, app stores, ad networks, and bank statements. You'll build the infrastructure that changes that: reliable pipelines that turn raw attribution and revenue data into underwriting signals, a monitoring layer that catches performance stress before it becomes a portfolio problem, and the automation that lets us move from application to term sheet in 48 hours instead of two weeks.
Core data pipelines:
- Pull and normalize data from MMPs (AppsFlyer, Adjust, Singular), app stores (Apple, Google), ad networks (Meta, Google, TikTok, Applovin)
- Transform into performance and underwriting signals (cohort LTV, CAC, retention, payback curves)
- Build dashboards for business development, credit risk and customer teams to better understand performance data
Infrastructure:
- Data warehouse (BigQuery), orchestration (Prefect or Airflow), transformations (dbt)
- API integrations with third-party systems (ad network, mediation, banking/financial systems)
- Defining and managing the short and long-term technical roadmap for the business
Internal & External Tooling:
- Leverage agents and automations for checks on UA manipulation, bot traffic, fake installs
- Create queryable datasets, reports, agents and alerts to provide early warning into campaign and cohort performance of funded clients
- Define and create cohort analysis red flags (retention cliffs, revenue anomalies)
- Build internal automations to streamline administrative and reporting workflows
- Set up and monitor external tools leveraging web scrapers, webhooks and third party APIs to identify high potential studio clients
What We Need
We’re seeking an experienced engineer who has shipped production pipelines and know what good data infrastructure looks like. You should comfortable working autonomously, and you're curious enough about the business to ask why, not just what. We are a team of do-ers who iterate fast and share a deep passion for the games industry. We are seeking someone who can grow with the company over the long term.
Must have:
- 4+ years experience in data engineering or similar
- Built production data pipelines (ETL/ELT) running in production today
- Strong Python + SQL (dbt experience required)
- Experience with data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake) and orchestration (Prefect or Airflow)
- API integration experience (REST, authentication, rate limits, error handling)
- AI first workflow; agents, QA, automation. Be AI native and champion AI in our systems (Claude Code, OpenClaw, Cursor)
- Startup mentality, high ownership, ability to work cross functionally
Nice to have:
- Mobile gaming, ad tech, or attribution platform experience
- Fintech, lending, or risk / actuary background
- Passion for gaming (mobile, console, PC)
Why This Role
You're one of our first senior hires. You're not inheriting someone else's technical debt or maintaining a pipeline you didn't build. You get ownership over your domain and help to set the strategic roadmap that becomes your workday. The domain is genuinely interesting. Mobile gaming UA economics are complex: cohort LTV curves, payback modeling, attribution fraud, ROAS by channel. You'll understand this rapidly growing market deeply, not just moving data around.
The team is small and the decision-making is fast. No tickets, no sprint ceremonies, no approval chains. This is an opportunity to work closely with the founding team, external technology partners, and game studio clients. In 6 months, you’ll help build the team around you.
