Lead Software Engineer, Full Stack
We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join our engineering team at GrowthZone — someone who is equally comfortable writing code and enabling others to do their best work. This is a senior technical lead role, not a people-management position. You'll drive projects forward, mentor engineers around you, and help shape the direction of our platform — all while staying close to the work itself.
On any given day, you might be working through a complex architectural decision in the morning, unblocking a teammate on a tricky backend problem in the afternoon, and then hopping into a cross-functional meeting with product and design to make sure engineering trade-offs are well understood. You'll own the technical vision for your domain — aligning it with business goals, driving down tech debt, and raising the bar on engineering quality across the team. Mentorship is a real part of this role, not a footnote. You'll coach engineers, guide design reviews, and help build a culture where people take ownership and feel safe to push ideas forward.
After one year, you'll know you were successful if:
- The team is shipping predictably and with confidence — fewer surprises, less scope creep, and a measurable improvement in engineering velocity
- High-severity incidents have dropped or time-to-resolution has improved, and your domain's systems are healthier than when you found them
- Engineers on your team are growing — taking on more autonomy, earning more responsibility, and telling you they feel supported
- Product and business stakeholders consistently say that working with your team feels aligned and dependable, and that engineering context is showing up in strategic conversations
This role also puts you in a position to influence how GrowthZone builds software at scale. You'll be involved in upstream planning conversations, help define practices that extend beyond your immediate team, and have real runway to grow your impact as our engineering organization evolves.
What You Bring
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years leading scrum teams — with a track record of driving delivery, mentoring others, and growing technical scope
- Deep proficiency in .NET Core with C#, ASP.NET MVC/Web API, and SQL Server, paired with strong working knowledge of AWS or a comparable cloud platform
- Frontend fluency in jQuery, HTML, CSS, and at least one modern JavaScript framework, with a solid grasp of design patterns and SOLID principles
Nice to Have
- Experience working with nearshore or offshore development teams
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Node.js, or Redis
- Exposure to SPA frameworks and modern caching strategies
We invite you to apply now!
