External Integrations Software Engineer | Raleigh, North Carolina | Hybrid

We're working with a leading Nasdaq-listed mortgage fintech powerhouse on this exciting opportunity. They are the backbone of the American dream, leveraging tech to help lenders put more people in homes through innovative mortgage insurance solutions.

As an Integrations Software Engineer, you will lead the charge in building and scaling high-performance API and cloud-based bridges between customers, vendors, and internal systems. You’ll be a technical heavyweight on an Agile product team, utilizing Java and AWS to architect reusable services that power multi-million dollar business processes.

The Role

• Lead technical design and implementation for complex external integrations using Java, moving between modern API architectures and legacy SFTP/S3 interfaces.

• Architect cloud-native and on-prem services within an AWS ecosystem, leveraging Lambda, Step Functions, and AWS Transfer to drive efficiency.

• Act as a Technical Lead for offshore managed-service teams, conducting high-standard code reviews and ensuring best practices in the Integrations product group.

• Partner directly with business POD owners to translate complex mortgage insurance requirements into robust technical specifications and deliverables.

• Optimize system performance and observability using NewRelic, while utilizing AI tools to accelerate development velocity and problem-solving.

What You'll Need

• 5+ years of professional experience in Java-based software development with a focus on enterprise-grade integrations.

• 5+ years of deep hands-on experience with AWS services, specifically AWS Lambda, Step Functions, and S3.

• 2+ years of monitoring and performance tuning experience using NewRelic.

• Strong technical proficiency with MISMO standards for XML/JSON formats and experience with API/SFTP architectural patterns.

• Proficiency with Agile tooling including JIRA and ServiceNow for defect management and project collaboration.
