Role summary

This role is for an experienced aerospace professional to serve as an FAA ODA Flight Analyst Unit Member, shaping the future of ISR aviation. You will be responsible for certifying mission-critical aircraft by leveraging expertise in flight test management, FAA regulations (Part 23/25/27/29/91), and system integration. Key duties include defining test requirements, developing test plans, executing ground and flight tests, collaborating with engineering teams, managing airspace logistics, and directing test events to ensure air vehicle performance and national security success. An active DoD Secret clearance is required, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.

This is a high-impact role for an experienced aerospace professional to step into an FAA ODA Flight Analyst Unit Member position. You will be at the forefront of certifying mission-critical aircraft, leveraging your expertise in flight test management, FAA Part 23/25 regulations, and system integration to ensure air vehicle performance and national security success.
The Role

  • Act as an FAA ODA Flight Analyst Unit Member, generating and approving critical flight test data for complex ISR platforms.
  • Lead the definition of test requirements, development of test plans/procedures, and execution of ground and flight test events.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and aeronautical engineers to ensure air vehicle systems meet Military Specification and FAA Certification standards.
  • Manage range and airspace logistics while coordinating instrumentation and data collection for engineering and experimental flights.
  • Serve as a Test Director, overseeing the safe and effective execution of production acceptance tests and maneuvers.

What You'll Need

  • An active DoD Secret security clearance (ability to obtain TS/SCI is essential).
  • Significant flight test experience (9+ years with a Bachelor’s in Aeronautical Engineering, or 13+ years of relevant operational experience).
  • Deep expertise in FAA Part 23, 25, 27, 29, and 91 regulations, as well as MIL-HDBK-516 and JSSG standards.
  • Proven track record in airspace/range management and systems engineering disciplines including structural loads and handling qualities analysis.
  • Ability to obtain a Class III Airman certificate; graduation from a military Experimental Test Pilot School (TPS) or a current FAA Flight Analyst DER status is highly preferred.
