We're working with a leading defense technology innovator specializing in high-stakes mission intelligence and secure air-gapped network solutions on this exciting opportunity.
This is a high-impact role for a seasoned Software Engineer who thrives in secure environments, leveraging automation and containerization to modernize critical data repositories. You will be at the forefront of integrating Ansible, Kubernetes, and NiFi into production environments to support missions of national importance.
The Role

• Lead the automation of daily tasks for data repositories on secure air-gapped networks using Bash shell scripting and Ansible playbooks.
• Spearhead the integration of new technologies into production environments, specifically focusing on containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Architect and manage complex virtual environments including VMWare instances and vCenter configurations.
• Orchestrate large-scale dataflows between distributed systems using NiFi to forward log events for advanced analysis.
• Provide high-level technical briefings and program documentation to senior leadership while maintaining rigorous SOPs for system configurations.

What You'll Need

• 14+ years of Software Engineering experience (or 19+ years in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree) in mission-critical environments.
• Deep technical expertise in Linux administration, Bash Shell scripting, and automation tools like Python and Ansible.
• Hands-on proficiency with container orchestration platforms including Kubernetes, Docker, and Rancher.
• Proven experience with DevOps and monitoring tools such as NiFi, SaltStack (SALT), Git, Grafana, and nxLog.
• Mandatory active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph to access secure facilities at Fort Meade.
