Role summary
A leading national company in risk management and insurance solutions is seeking a Sr. API Developer for their Schaumburg, Illinois office. This hybrid role involves developing and deploying robust integration solutions using the MuleSoft platform, including API Manager, Cloud Hub, Anypoint Studio, and Anypoint MQ. Responsibilities include troubleshooting production API issues, designing solutions, and optimizing API performance. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) and 7+ years in application design/development, with at least 4 years specifically in MuleSoft API development and cloud environments. Experience with RAML, ODATA, integration architecture patterns, and cloud technologies like Azure is required. A MuleSoft Developer certification is preferred.

The Role
• Develop APIs using MuleSoft platform components including API Manager, Cloud Hub, Anypoint Studio, and Anypoint MQ.
• Troubleshoot complex production API issues, identifying root causes and implementing fixes.
• Serve as a technical lead on projects, designing and deploying robust integration solutions on the MuleSoft platform.
• Work closely with business and application teams to understand needs and perform impact analysis.
• Test and improve API performance, focusing on response time, reliability, and resource usage.
• Assess technical challenges and feasibility to achieve required business outcomes.
What You'll Need
• Bachelor’s Degree and 7+ years of experience in Application Design and Development (or High School Diploma and 9+ years).
• 4+ years of experience with MuleSoft API development and cloud hub/RTF environments.
• Experience with service design using RAML (with JSON) and ODATA.
• Knowledge of Integration Architecture concepts, principles, and patterns (API, SOA, Batch Integration, RESTful JSON services).
• Experience with cloud-based technologies and integration to Azure-hosted technologies.
• MuleSoft Developer certification is highly preferred.
