Role summary
A Fortune 200 leader in energy transformation is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to build high-performance data pipelines and enterprise-scale analytics solutions. This role leverages Azure, Databricks, and Spark to drive intelligence for over 10 million customers. Responsibilities include designing, building, and optimizing ETL/ELT processes and data warehouses, architecting data pipelines, cleaning and transforming complex datasets, and collaborating on security policies. The ideal candidate has 4-7 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, and ETL development, with hands-on mastery of the Azure ecosystem and Big Data technologies like Spark. Proficiency in workflow automation using PowerShell or Ansible is also required.

The Role
• Design, build, and optimize high-scale ETL/ELT processes and data warehouse solutions supporting diverse energy utility business units.
• Architect and implement robust data pipelines using Databricks, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Synapse, and Spark.
• Clean, preprocess, and transform complex datasets into readable formats for advanced analytics, utilizing optimization techniques for Parquet, SCD1/2, and GIS data.
• Collaborate with IT and business partners to define security policies, access controls, and data monitoring settings for mission-critical systems.
• Lead the automation of common operational tasks and reporting using PowerShell, Ansible, and other advanced scripting tools.
What You'll Need
• 4-7 years of professional experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehouse design, and ETL development.
• Hands-on mastery of the Azure ecosystem, including Databricks (Warehouse/Lakehouse), Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and Cosmos DB.
• Strong technical proficiency in Big Data technologies, specifically Spark, and experience with data integration tools like ODI, IDMC, or Oracle Golden Gate.
• Proven ability to automate workflows using PowerShell or Ansible and a deep understanding of the full SDLC and enterprise data standards.
• A degree in Computer Science or a related field, with the communication skills to disseminate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
