Role summary
A clean energy company is seeking a Simulator Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain simulation software logic and dynamic models for control room simulators. This hybrid role involves collaborating with training departments and engineers, implementing modifications, and advising on simulator technology. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related science with at least 2 years of experience (or an Associate's degree with additional experience), proficiency in FORTRAN and C, and experience with simulation software development and configuration management. Familiarity with engineering prints and Windows OS is also required.

The Role
• Design, create, and modify simulation software logic and dynamic models for control room simulators.
• Maintain simulator software, implement minor plant modifications, and develop enhancements.
• Advise the training department on simulator technology and best practices.
• Collaborate with training departments, project managers, and engineers to meet project requirements.
• Participate in planning, designing, building, and managing simulator solutions.
• Review peer code and advocate for standard development methodologies.
What You'll Need
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related science with relevant experience (e.g., 2+ years for Engineer, 5+ years for Senior Engineer), or an Associate's degree with additional experience.
• Proficiency in FORTRAN and C programming languages.
• Experience with simulation software development and software configuration management.
• Familiarity with engineering print interpretation and Windows Operating Systems.
• Strong teamwork and self-motivation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
