Role summary

This remote Data Engineer role is with a government IT services provider focused on transforming public sector technology. The position involves leading the migration of patient care and VA management data to Microsoft Azure, leveraging expertise in Veteran Affairs data systems (CDW, VISTA, Oracle Health), and applying advanced skills in CDW Metadata, data modeling, and query optimization. The engineer will conduct in-depth data analysis to identify migration patterns and resolve dependencies, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and document technical processes. A Bachelor's degree or 12+ years of equivalent experience is required, along with proven experience in the specified data systems and analytical skills. Experience with cloud-based servers and applications is preferred.

The Role

• Lead the migration of patient care and VA management analyses, reports, queries, and dashboards to Microsoft Azure cloud.

• Leverage expertise in Veteran Affairs data and analytics to support VHA analytics service lines.

• Apply advanced skills in CDW Metadata, data modeling, and CDW query optimization.

• Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify architectural migration patterns and resolve data/system dependencies.

• Collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders including physicians, nurses, VA IT staff, and leadership.

• Document technical processes and create high-quality migration documentation.

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience of 12+ years.

• Proven experience working with CDW, VISTA, and Oracle Health data.

• Expertise in CDW Metadata, data modeling, and query optimization.

• Demonstrated ability to identify architectural migration patterns and resolve dependencies.

• Strong collaboration and communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.

• Experience with virtual and/or cloud-based servers and applications is highly preferred.
