Role summary
This role is for a Cost Analyst within a global defense and technology consultancy, focusing on financial engineering for U.S. Navy funding and program lifecycles. The analyst will use Python, R, and Tableau to create financial models, perform statistical analysis, develop executive dashboards, and conduct economic analyses. Key responsibilities include architecting Program Office Estimates (POE) and Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCE), risk modeling, and translating program requirements into cost models. A Secret security clearance and Bachelor's degree are required, with 2+ years of experience in cost estimation, financial forecasting, or quantitative analysis.

As a Cost Analyst, you will leverage high-level data science and financial modeling to optimize U.S. Navy funding and program life cycles. You’ll be at the intersection of finance and technology, using tools like Python, R, and Tableau to transform complex data into actionable insights for high-ranking military leadership.
The Role
• Architect and manage complex Program Office Estimates (POE) and Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCE) for major defense acquisition programs.
• Perform advanced statistical analysis and risk modeling using scripting languages like Python or R and Monte Carlo simulation software such as Crystal Ball.
• Develop interactive, real-time data visualizations and executive dashboards using Tableau and Power BI to drive strategic decision-making.
• Conduct economic "what-if" analyses and spend plan assessments to help clients navigate rigorous program planning and approval processes.
• Translate sophisticated program requirements into defensible cost models that withstand high-level scrutiny and government reviews.
What You'll Need
• 2+ years of professional experience in cost estimation, financial forecasting, or quantitative analysis.
• Mastery of Microsoft Excel, including high-level logical formulas (VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP) and sophisticated data manipulation.
• Demonstrated ability to apply statistical analysis to forecast future financial outcomes and program performance.
• An active Secret security clearance (required) and a Bachelor’s degree.
• Professional edge: Exposure to DoD acquisition, Power Query, or certifications like CCEA, PCEA, or PMP is highly desirable.
