Data Security Engineer

We're working with a premier global defense and intelligence consultancy on this exciting opportunity to secure the nation's most sensitive data environments.

As a Data Security Engineer, you will architect and deploy cutting-edge data protection solutions across DoD and Intelligence Community (IC) landscapes. You’ll be at the forefront of implementing Zero Trust architectures and Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) to ensure mission-critical information remains secure in complex hybrid cloud environments.

The Role

• Architect, deploy, and configure advanced data security solutions adhering to Zero Trust best practices and IC data header guidelines.

• Build custom security policies to maintain positive control of data across hybrid cloud environments and containerized services like Kubernetes.

• Interface directly with agency personnel and internal engineering teams to translate complex requirements into technical security architectures.

• Design and document technical diagrams for data protection frameworks, ensuring seamless integration with identity solutions like Keycloak.

• Lead the implementation of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) capabilities and Trusted Data Format (TDF) standards for federal clients.

What You'll Need

• Active Secret security clearance (required for access to classified information).

• Proven professional experience in Data Security Engineering, specifically with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Data Protection concepts.

• Hands-on technical knowledge of Kubernetes, container orchestration, and documenting complex technical architectures.

• Strong background in policy creation, deployment, and troubleshooting within federal, DoD, or IC compliance frameworks.

• Familiarity with advanced concepts such as Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC), Virtru Data Security Platform (DSP), or TDF is highly preferred.
