We are looking for a visionary Lead Backend Engineer to spearhead our greenfield Conversational Messaging Platform, leveraging cutting-edge LLMs and AI-assisted development tools to redefine how millions of patients engage with their healthcare providers.
The Role

• Lead the design and architecture of high-availability backend services using Spring Boot and Java to power enterprise-scale SMS, secure web chat, and voice communications.
• Operationalize LLMs and prompt engineering strategies to automate decision-making and enhance intelligent workflows within the provider-patient ecosystem.
• Accelerate the SDLC by integrating AI-assisted tools like Claude, Augment, and Codex into the daily development workflow from discovery to delivery.
• Mentor a cross-functional team of backend/frontend developers, promoting hexagonal and CLEAN architecture principles while influencing high-performance coding standards.
• Proactively scale distributed systems on AWS EKS, ensuring absolute stability, security, and resiliency for sensitive healthcare data.

What You'll Need

• 8+ years of deep enterprise backend engineering experience with a focus on high-scale, cloud-hosted SaaS products.
• Proven expertise in microservices architecture, Spring Boot, and both SQL/NoSQL databases in a distributed environment.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development (Claude, Codex, etc.) and 2+ years integrating LLMs into production backend services.
• Mastery of modern CI/CD pipelines including Jenkins, Harness, Git, and deployment within Kubernetes/AWS EKS environments.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred), with a track record of technical leadership in complex domains.
