Role summary

A leading federal mission-partner seeks a Senior Backend Developer to architect robust backend systems within a mission-critical Kubernetes environment. This role involves leveraging Python, PostgreSQL, and AWS to build scalable RESTful APIs and microservices for national defense and operational readiness. Responsibilities include leading design and development, architecting APIs, driving DevSecOps principles, conducting system testing, and mentoring junior developers. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of software development experience with a focus on DevSecOps and microservices, including 5+ years in Python, PostgreSQL, and RESTful APIs, and 3+ years with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and Ansible. An active TS/SCI clearance is required.

Senior Back End Developer

We're working with a leading federal mission-partner delivering high-impact cybersecurity and national security solutions for critical government programs on this exciting opportunity.

This is a high-stakes role for a seasoned engineer ready to architect robust back-end systems within a mission-critical Kubernetes environment. You will leverage Python, PostgreSQL, and AWS to build scalable RESTful APIs and modern microservices that support national defense and operational readiness.

The Role

• Lead the design and development of complex back-end architectures, ensuring high performance and seamless integration for new system capabilities.

• Architect and modify RESTful APIs and develop optimized data models to support secure, large-scale data processing.

• Drive process improvements and functional modeling using DevSecOps principles within a RedHat Linux and AWS infrastructure.

• Conduct and document comprehensive system testing to verify operability and compliance with rigorous project standards.

• Mentor junior developers and steer software development programs through specialized studies and requirement definitions.

What You'll Need

• Active TS/SCI security clearance.

• 10+ years of software development experience using object-oriented and scripted languages with a focus on DevSecOps and microservices.

• 5+ years of deep expertise in Python, PostgreSQL, and building/integrating RESTful APIs.

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS Infrastructure, Kubernetes, Docker, and Ansible.

• Proven experience in AI/Machine Learning data structuring and Agile Test-Driven Development (TDD).
