Software Developer Intern - Packaged Systems | Remote, Ohio or Remote, Nebraska | $13 - $26/hr

This is more than just a summer gig; it is a year-long journey into the heart of fintech and insurtech. You will be actively contributing to live production environments, working alongside seasoned engineers to bridge the gap between academic theory and enterprise-scale application development.

The Role

• Design and develop robust solutions utilizing custom packaged insurance software and modern web architectures.

• Build and maintain custom applications using a high-performance tech stack including Java, SpringBoot, JavaScript, and React/Redux.

• Leverage Python and custom scripting languages to automate workflows and optimize data processing.

• Work within professional DevOps environments utilizing GitHub for version control and collaborative coding.

• Interface with SQL and relational databases to manage complex data structures for financial and insurance products.

What You'll Need

• Current enrollment in a college degree program (Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field) for the full duration of the internship.

• Availability for a 12-month commitment: Full-time (30-40 hours) in the summer and Part-time (15-20 hours) during the school year.

• Foundational understanding of coding principles, object-oriented programming (OOP), and the software development life cycle (SDLC).

• Familiarity or coursework experience with Python, Java, or JavaScript and a desire to learn AWS cloud environments.

• Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to team members.
