Role summary
A globally recognized energy company is seeking a Senior Market Risk Analyst to join their dynamic finance team. This hybrid role involves overseeing trading strategies, designing and implementing quantitative market risk models, and collaborating with traders to enhance commercial decision-making. The analyst will analyze trading positions, perform financial modeling of structured commodity contracts, and provide commercially focused risk insights. A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, four years of experience in financial modeling and quantitative analytics, and proficiency in SQL, Python, VBA, and Power BI are required. Understanding of derivatives and strong analytical and communication skills are essential.
Senior Market Risk Analyst | Hybrid | $142,210 - $150,000 per year

The Role
• Oversee and critically assess trading strategies across diverse energy commodities and environmental credits.
• Design, implement, and refine quantitative market risk models and analytics.
• Collaborate with traders to develop tailored analytics and enhance commercial decision-making.
• Analyze and quantify trading positions and market exposures, delivering comprehensive portfolio risk assessments.
• Perform independent validation and financial modeling of structured commodity contracts.
• Partner with Front Office teams to provide commercially focused risk insights and strategic guidance.
What You'll Need
• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Economics, Financial Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Four (4) years of experience in advanced financial modeling, valuation methodologies, and quantitative analytics.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, VBA, and Power BI for enhancing forecasting and risk insights.
• Experience with standardizing analytical processes and strengthening data governance.
• Understanding of derivatives including futures, swaps, and options, and their associated Greeks.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and clear communication of complex quantitative analyses.
