
Program Manager - Retail Technology
Role summary
The Program Manager - Retail Technology will be responsible for initiating, planning, controlling, and implementing medium to large cross-divisional, multi-year projects within the retail technology domain. This role requires a minimum of 6 years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing computer software projects, with a strong emphasis on retail systems. Key responsibilities include managing project charters, schedules, budgets, and teams, as well as identifying and managing interdependencies. The Program Manager will communicate progress to stakeholders and senior leadership, participate in strategic roadmap planning, and ensure the smooth implementation of new technologies and vendor integrations. A Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience is required.

Program Manager – Retail Technology
- Initiates, plans, controls, and implements medium to large cross-divisional, multi‑year projects using project management practices
- Ensures overall deliverables are completed, including:
- Project charter
- Plan and schedule
- Requirements, design, development, testing, and implementation
- Policies, procedures, standards, contracts
- Risk and issue resolution
- Plans projects in detail, manages project budgets, organizes project teams, and coordinates resource needs with resource managers
- Identifies, evaluates, and proactively manages cross‑project interdependencies
- Manages progress and communicates status regularly to sponsors, stakeholders, and senior leadership
- Participates in strategic roadmap planning and may facilitate portfolio review meetings
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization, from individual contributors to executives
- Additional Responsibilities
- Proactively identifies opportunities and contributes to continuous business process improvement to streamline and standardize workflows, communication, and resource efficiency
- Ensures smooth implementation of new technologies and vendor integrations within assigned domains and interfaces
- May conduct technical walkthroughs with software engineers to ensure feasibility and standards compliance
- Collaborates with operations support and other teams to ensure robust production operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 6 years of progressively responsible experience designing, developing, and implementing computer software projects using open‑source services frameworks
- 5–10 years of project management experience
- 5+ years of experience in retail systems development and delivery (highly valued)
- Experience creating and executing implementation strategies for complex systems
- Strong relationship management and organizational change management skills
- Understanding of multiple delivery frameworks (Waterfall, Agile, DevOps, Lean) and how to apply them appropriately
- Ability to apply complex technical principles and provide solutions to a wide range of complex tasks and projects
- Ability to estimate effort and impact for various solutions and influence technical discussions and decisions
- Experience working with distributed Unix or Linux‑based systems, J2EE application servers, clustered database systems, and source control systems
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks with urgency
- Excellent presentation, verbal, written, interpersonal, and listening skills
- Strong leadership, collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation skills

Pay and Benefits
Pay Range Minimum: $ 105000 per year
Pay Range Maximum: $ 145000 per year

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
