Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Data Engineer to join our growing technology team and support the development and maintenance of data pipelines and analytics-ready datasets. This role is ideal for individuals with foundational technical skills who are eager to learn, troubleshoot data issues, and grow within a collaborative engineering environment. You will work closely with senior engineers and analytics partners while building core data engineering capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Data Pipeline Development & Support
- Assist in building, maintaining, and monitoring data pipelines that support analytics and reporting needs.
- Support data ingestion and transformation processes under the guidance of senior team members.
SQL & Data Troubleshooting
- Write, review, and troubleshoot SQL queries with guidance and mentorship.
- Investigate and help resolve data quality issues, pipeline failures, and data inconsistencies.
Collaboration & Learning
- Participate in team collaboration, knowledge-sharing sessions, and ongoing learning activities.
- Work closely with engineers and stakeholders to understand data requirements and improve data reliability.

Minimum Qualifications
- SQL Knowledge: Foundational understanding of SQL queries and their purpose
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to demonstrate logical troubleshooting and analytical thinking
- Programming Exposure: Basic experience with Python or similar programming languages
- Growth Mindset: Strong desire to learn data engineering concepts, tools, and cloud platforms
Preferred / Transferable Experience
- Experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar relational databases
- Academic projects, internships, or bootcamp experience related to data, analytics, or engineering
- Exposure to cloud platforms or analytics tools
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Location: Hybrid role based in Indianapolis, IN
- Schedule: Full-time; in-office a minimum of three days per week (four days preferred)
