Healthcare Retroactive Audits (HRA) is seeking a highly motivated AI Engineer to help build and scale next-generation automation tools within our revenue cycle platform.
This role will focus on developing AI-driven systems, including contract parsers, pricing engines, and intelligent agents that enhance data analysis and operational efficiency.
You will work directly with leadership and the CIO to build proprietary technology that transforms how healthcare underpayments are identified and recovered.
This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to build, innovate, and make a measurable impact.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop AI-driven solutions to process, interpret, and apply complex data logic
- Build and enhance intelligent systems that support data analysis and workflow automation
- Develop and maintain backend services and APIs to support AI functionality
- Integrate AI solutions into existing platforms, including proprietary systems (PRS)
- Work with structured and unstructured data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and consistency
- Collaborate with the CIO and cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Build scalable data workflows and improve system performance and reliability
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce manual effort through automation
- Troubleshoot, test, and refine models and systems to improve outcomes
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Experience building production-level applications (not just prototypes or notebooks)
- Solid understanding of SQL and data handling
- Experience working with LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, Claude) or NLP-based solutions
- Experience developing APIs and integrating systems
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work through complex, real-world data challenges
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare, revenue cycle, or financial data environments
- Familiarity with EDI data (835/837) or claims-based workflows
- Experience with automation tools or workflow systems
- Exposure to cloud environments (Azure preferred)

Pay: $85,891.57 - $103,439.30 per year
