Role summary
Heart of Texas Behavioral Health Network is seeking a Crisis Services Data Analyst to manage and analyze crisis services data for state and regulatory reporting. This role is crucial for ensuring data accuracy, compliance, and supporting program evaluation and quality improvement. The analyst will collect, validate, and submit data, monitor quality, interpret trends, and provide insights to improve service delivery. The position requires a Bachelor's degree, 2+ years of experience in data analysis within healthcare/behavioral health, proficiency in tools like Excel, SQL, and visualization platforms, and strong knowledge of reporting systems and regulations like HIPAA.
The Crisis Service Data Analyst is an integral part of Heart of Texas Behavioral Health Network. The Crisis Services Data Analyst is responsible for the collection, validation, analysis and submission of crisis services data to state agencies and other regulatory bodies. This role ensures data accuracy, compliance with reporting requirements, and supports program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives. The analyst works closely with clinical, administrative and leadership teams to monitor performance metrics and improve crisis service delivery.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
- Collect, manage, and maintain crisis services data from multiple sources (e.g., crisis hotline, mobile crisis teams, crisis units).
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all required data submissions to state reporting systems.
- Prepare and submit routine and ad hoc reports to state agencies in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor data quality and perform regular audits to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Collaborate with program staff to ensure proper data entry practices and adherence to documentation standards.
- Interpret data trends and provide actionable insights to support program improvements and strategic decision-making.
- Stay current on state reporting requirements, data standards, and compliance regulations.
- Support grant reporting and program evaluations as needed.
Experience and Training
- Experience working with crisis services, behavioral health, or healthcare systems.
- Familiarity with state reporting systems (e.g., mental health authority databases).
- Knowledge of HIPAA and data privacy regulations.
- Must have excellent written/verbal communication skills.
- Must have excellent time management, organizational, and filing skills.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHRs).
Education
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree with a major in related field.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Data Analytics, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or healthcare/behavioral health data management.
- Experience with data reporting systems and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in data tools such as Excel (advanced), SQL, or data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large datasets accurately.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Must have and maintain a level of general health that permits the performance of job duties.

Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
Salary: $60,000 Annually $28.8400 Hourly
