Product Manager / Product Owner, AI-Native Consumer Platform
About HeartStamp
HeartStamp is the first AI-powered platform for premium personalized physical goods, starting with greeting cards and invitations. Users describe what they want, our generative AI creates it in any art style, and we deliver a professionally printed, tactile product to their door. Think Canva meets Hallmark, powered by generative AI.
We just launched our U.S. MVP in April 2026 and are live with real users and real orders. We're a team of ~27 across engineering, AI, product, UX/brand, and operations, fully remote, moving fast, and iterating daily on a product category that doesn't exist yet in the market. We're founder-funded, pre-Series A, and building toward Canada/UK expansion later this year.
The Role
We're hiring a Product Manager / Product Owner to own the end-to-end consumer experience from first visit to repeat purchase. You'll run user research, build the analytics foundation, and drive conversion optimization on a live product with real traffic and real transactions.
Our MVP is in market, we have a well-curated backlog in Linear, and fast-follow features are already in flight. A second PM handles our routing API, fulfillment partners, and print operations, so this role is 100% focused on the consumer-facing experience. You'll also own the scrum master function: running cycles, keeping the team unblocked, and driving accountability. We use a Shape Up methodology with 1-week cycles. You'll report directly to the CEO and work closely with our tech lead, AI engineer, and product design lead.
What You'll Do
User Research and Beta Feedback: We're actively running beta testing, which means a high volume of user feedback tickets and direct communication with early users. You'll triage and synthesize that feedback into actionable product decisions, identify patterns, close the loop with users, and escalate bugs. As beta winds down, you'll transition toward structured research sessions and recruit your own participant pipeline targeting millennials, upper Gen Z, and style-forward parents.
Analytics: Own the full measurement stack (PostHog, Google Analytics, Hotjar). Instrument every critical action from landing to purchase. Build dashboards the team actually uses: conversion rate, activation, checkout completion, AOV.
Experimentation: Turn user feedback and behavioral data into hypotheses. Design and run A/B tests. Analyze results rigorously. You'll build the experimentation culture here.
Funnel Optimization: Map the complete journey from discovery through purchase and re-engagement. Find the drop-offs, size them, and fix them, prioritized by impact and effort.
Backlog Ownership and Cycle Management: We have a curated Linear backlog. You'll own prioritization for consumer-facing features, shape pitches for 1-week cycles, and run the cadence end to end: kickoffs, standups, cooldowns, and bet reviews. You're the scrum master here, not just the prioritizer.
Reporting: Share a weekly funnel update with core metrics and top priorities. Experiment readouts with baseline, hypothesis, results, and next steps.
Feature Discovery: Surface opportunities from user research, session recordings, and competitive analysis. Prioritize by user impact, business value, and engineering lift.
Technical Context
You don't need to write code, but you need to speak the language. Our platform runs on a RAG-powered conversational AI that orchestrates multi-model generative pipelines, image-based vector search, and semantic retrieval to guide users through a structured creation experience. The PM in this role needs to understand how these systems affect the user experience, write informed tickets for AI and backend engineers, and make prioritization calls that account for model behavior, latency, and generation quality, not just UI polish.
First 30 Days
- Take over beta feedback triage: establish a workflow for incoming tickets, pattern identification, and user follow-up
- Confirm event tracking across the full funnel on the live product
- Identify the top 3 drop-off points and ship your first fixes or tests
- Take ownership of the consumer-facing Linear backlog and 1-week cycle cadence
Requirements
- 3+ years of product management experience owning consumer-facing product
- Product Owner experience: backlog ownership, sprint/cycle management, writing well-scoped tickets, and driving engineering accountability
- Working understanding of RAG systems, generative AI UX patterns, and backend orchestration. You don't need to build them, but you need to understand how they impact user experience and write informed requirements for the engineers who do
- Deep fluency with analytics tools (PostHog, GA, Hotjar or equivalent) and data-driven decision-making
- Hands-on user research experience: you've managed beta feedback loops, triaged user tickets, run sessions, and turned insights into shipped product changes
- Track record improving conversion metrics through hypothesis-driven experimentation
- Comfortable building processes from scratch in a fast-moving startup
- Excellent written and verbal English. This is a communication-heavy role
- Available during EST business hours (10 AM - 5 PM ET) for syncs and user sessions
C1-level English proficiency required. Candidates must be deeply familiar with American/Anglo consumer culture, particularly Gen Z and Millennial audiences across Pinterest, TikTok, and Instagram. Strong preference for PMs with hands-on B2C user journey experience.
Nice to Have
- Experience with generative AI in user-facing product flows, especially image generation or multimodal systems
- Familiarity with vector databases, semantic search, or embedding-based retrieval in a product context
- E-commerce PM experience, especially in gifting, personalization, or print-on-demand
- Familiarity with creative tools or platforms where users generate custom content
- Prior early-stage or 0-to-1 product development experience
- Familiarity with Shape Up methodology or similar appetite-based development frameworks
Success Metrics
- Conversion Rate: Sessions to purchase, segmented by device and source
- Cart-to-Purchase: Checkout funnel conversion with measurable abandonment reduction
- User Activation: Percentage of new users completing their first meaningful action
- Average Order Value: Revenue per transaction, tracking upsell impact
- Research Impact: User insights that directly change what we build, documented and traceable
Tools
PostHog, Google Analytics, Hotjar, Figma, Notion, Slack, Linear
Compensation and Terms
- Compensation: $60,000-$90,000 USD/year ($5,000-$7,500/month)
- Structure: Full-time independent contractor, monthly retainer
- Hours: 40-50 hours/week (Monday-Friday/Saturday), with flexibility during critical cycle phases, launches, and production incidents
- Review: Formal performance and compensation review at 91 days
- Equity: Vested equity opportunity post-trial period
Location
Remote, global. Overlap with US Eastern time zone required for team syncs.
Note: This compensation range reflects US-based cost of living. We welcome applicants from outside the United States, but please understand that compensation will be adjusted to reflect local market rates and cost of living.
Why HeartStamp
- You're not joining a feature factory. You're helping build a platform that bridges AI and physical products, greeting cards today, a full gifting ecosystem tomorrow.
- The AI challenge is real. Our RAG system has to understand art styles, emotional tone, cultural context, relationship dynamics, and print production constraints, all in one generation pass. This isn't a chatbot wrapper.
- You'll have ownership. This is a small, high-output team where your decisions shape the product directly. No layers of middle management. You report to the CEO.
- The team is already strong. You're not inheriting a mess. You're inheriting a shipped MVP with a solid engineering team, a clear product roadmap, and revenue. Your job is to level it up.
How to Apply
Apply through Indeed. In your application, tell us about a specific conversion experiment, user research project, or beta feedback loop you managed: what you found, what you shipped, and what happened. B2C experience is most important to us. We read every application, and specifics stand out.
We are reviewing applications now through April 9th. Interviews will be held Friday, April 10th and Monday, April 13th. Target start date is April 15th, 2026.
